Solar Commercial Ltd is a company which has been set up in New Zealand to help reduce the cost of hot water by using solar energy in commercial and domestic settings. The modular units have been designed utilizing the latest technological knowledge available. They may be fitted to most existing water systems and pressures. The units may be supplied and installed by Solar Commercial Ltd; or they may be installed by the purchaser’s own solar accredited plumber/installer. As the units are modular it is possible to add on to existing units  to cater for greater energy needs later.

We use the latest technology “Evacuated U - tube Collectors”. They achieve both higher temperatures and higher efficiency ratings performing well in conditions where there is direct and diffused solar radiation. This characteristic, combined with the fact that the vacuum minimizes heat loss to the outdoors, makes these collectors particularly efficient in areas with cold, cloudy winters (as in New Zealand). Because of the circular shape of the evacuated tube, sunlight is perpendicular to the absorber for most of the day. By comparison, in a flat-plate collector which is in a fixed position, the sun is only perpendicular to the collector at noon.

We have designed a unique solar collector and solar water heater system based on New Zealand conditions. They are Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors. The collector enables the water to travel through the u-pipe in the evacuated tube for direct gains from solar radiation, thus eliminating the need for any heat exchange system.

“U-Pipes” have a far greater efficiency rating.

Our system is maintenance free with a long life (25+  years). The panels have a 10 year company warranty. They are a modular design which makes it easy to install extra panels if required at a later date.
